Horizons Innovations

Horizons' Innovations is an independent establishment specialized in electronic publishing, multimedia, online publishing, web design consultation and implementation, localization to Arabic (Arabization of software programs), development of information bases and educational packages, development of guided tours and interactive training programs, CD-ROM production, philatelic cataloging and management services, and HyperCard solutions, established in 1989 and located in Beirut, Lebanon.

Horizons' Innovations developed several business, multimedia and educational packages, among these are: anatomyLINX - a tour inside the human body and an electronic reference about anatomy, Read SESAME - the first program that teaches reading Arabic, Plus Seven - a series that teach computational skills to youngsters, Al-Mawred Multimedia Encyclopedia - an Arabic encyclopedia that includes 15000 topics indexed in Arabic and English enhanced with 2000 pictures and many video and audio clips, StampsCard the software that provides a total computer solution to any stamps dealer or collector; and others like: Archive and Atlas of the Arab World, Jawaher Al-Boukhari a collection of the prophet sayings and the Executive Secretary an organizer tailored for the Arabic user.

Horizons' Innovations capabilities of authoring, compilation and data acquisition is reflected through several products, one of these is the A. Absi Philatelic Archive Of Lebanon, a huge original and comprehensive archive of Lebanon stamps, more than 3000 internet-ready web pages.

Horizons' Innovations arabized several popular products like HyperCard 2.0 (an authoring tool, including resources and manuals) and FileMaker Pro (a data base system). Horizons' Innovations developed Al-Nashir Al-Maktabi Tour a self running guided tour about the most popular multilingual page layout program.

Among our clients is Apple Computer Inc. and other famous software houses like Claris and Diwan of UK.

In 1989 Horizons' Innovations was one of very few Apple developers in the Middle East and probably was the only multimedia developer in this area of the world; in the present time Horizons' Innovations still maintains a pioneer role in this business field.
